game review

Magdar has been sitting in my collection of board games for some time now, but I got a chance to play only recently. In this game you have to mine for mithril and gems before the demon Magdar destroys the cave. That does sound familiar, doesn't it? When played with the basic rules is not that good, but when the special rules and tiles are included is actually quite fun. The game is designed in such ways that you have to take some risk to get the best gemstones and win the game, but with the extra rules in place the other players can make your life pretty miserable. I played it with three players and that seems to be the right number, with four the risks are to difficult to gauge. It plays really fast: a game lasts little over 15 minutes.
